Platform & Goals
Education
Blaise Jorgensen has spent the past seven years educating the public on the importance of estate planning, helping individuals and families make informed decisions to protect their futures. He understands that many people are unprepared for the legal and financial challenges that arise during times of crisis and loss. As Public Administrator, Blaise will bring a strong commitment to public service, transparency, and community outreach by offering free educational classes and workshops open to all residents. His goal is to ensure families have access to the knowledge and resources they need to plan ahead, protect loved ones, and navigate difficult situations with confidence and empathy.
Improved Efficiency & Reducing Costs
Blaise Jorgensen knows the importance of running a tight ship in the private sector. Government offices should not operate like a business. However, there are often outdated practices and inefficiencies that can be improved. Blaise will bring his knowledge in business management and operational efficiency into this role. He plans to update outdated programs and processes to ensure that the office of the Public Administrator can function effectively for Washoe County.
Transparency
Blaise believes that it should be easy to get in contact with all elected representatives. Every member of Washoe County should be able to reach out to the office and the representative if needed. He is dedicated to making sure that the people of Washoe County will get a timely response when they reach out. Loved ones, local businesses and public officials all work with the Public Administrator and they deserve the access they voted for.
Publicly Accessible Documents
Everyone deserves access to essential documents. Blaise Jorgensen wants to expand that access for the everyman. Blaise Jorgensen seeks to implement a program where people could easily and affordably put together a set of simple documents. Law offices and online companies all across the country use fill in the blank software systems to create simple Wills and other simple documents. Blaise is working on organizing a private endowment to pay for said services.
Expanded Outreach
A large part of the role of the Public Administrator is outreach to next of kin and loved ones. Sometimes this outreach is difficult to achieve. Family members may be distant or even estranged. Locating people who move around the country or even live abroad is not easy. I believe that the current methods used can and should be modernized. For example, using Social Media as an outreach tool or partnering with genealogy companies to locate next of kin who may be estranged.
Care & Compassion
Blaise Jorgensen is committed to bringing the same care and compassion that he has given to his clients for years to the office of the Public Administrator. When a loved one passes away it can be one of the most difficult times in someone’s life. These key moments need to be handed with care and empathy. There are many resources that can be given to these loved ones aside from assets. Resources like referrals to local businesses that can help settle affairs or grief councilors to assist with trauma.
